Turkey Cranberry Sandwich 😍

I adapted this recipe which was originally posted by Emily Mathews (a.k.a. Seasoned Cook) at food.com., so I cannot take credit for the recipe nor the photos.  I have made this sandwich several times, and I 'am hooked on it!!  It's one of my "favorite" ways to make a turkey sandwich.

Emily Mathews did post this about the recipe...
"This sandwich is similar to the one on the menu at Applebee's Restaurant, and is absolutely delicious! Bread of your choice can be used, but it must be grilled to get the true flavor and the goodness of melted cheese."

Turkey Cranberry Sandwich

2 slices cooked turkey

2 slices cooked bacon (I used 3 slices)

1 slice provolone cheese (I used 2 slices)

1 Tablespoon mayonnaise

2 Tablespoons whole cranberry sauce

1 teaspoon finely chopped red onion

2 slices wheat bread (or bread of choice)

2 teaspoons butter, for grilling (I used a bit more)

1.)  Spread mayonnaise on one side of sliced bread.

2.)  Mix red onion with the whole cranberry sauce.
Spread cranberry-onion mixture on the other slice of bread.

3.)  Layer turkey slices, bacon, and provolone cheese on one side of the bread, and top with other slice of bread.

4.)  Using a skillet or grill pan, grill sandwich with butter, then remove from heat when cheese has melted.  (I grilled the sandwich over medium heat anywhere from 2 minutes and 30 seconds, to 3 minutes per each side.)

5.)  Cut sandwich into 2 halves and serve.

6.)  Yields: 1 sandwich

7.)  Note: When making this sandwich, I used a multi grain bread, (which I purchased at an Aldi's Grocery Store) plus I did not add any lettuce.  (As lettuce is shown in both photos.)  Also, when it comes to adding butter to the skillet, I added a bit more (1/2 a Tablespoon more per each side when grilling the sandwich).  The second time I happened to make this sandwich, I just carefully buttered the outside of both slices of bread, so no need to add butter to the skillet.

Tomato Sandwiches

My husband and I enjoy Tomato Sandwiches, especially during the Summer.  We also enjoy our sandwiches with a bit of "Hot Shots" seasoning sprinkled over the tomatoes.  I like to toast my bread, where my husband does not.

Tomato Sandwich

-

Prep Time: 5 Minutes

-

2 slices of bread (toasted or untoasted bread)

4 teaspoons of mayonnaise or salad dressing (See *Note)

1 or 2 slices of tomatoes (Garden fresh tomatoes taste best!)

1 or 2 pinches of McCormick's Hot Shot! Black & Red Pepper (Using this is optional.)

-

1.)  Spread 2 teaspoons of either mayonnaise or salad dressing, on each slice of bread. (In prefer to toast my bread, before spreading on the mayonnaise.)

2.)  Place the sliced tomatoes on one slice of bread.

3.)  Sprinkle the Hot Shot! Black & Red Pepper, on either the toasts, or over the mayonnaise or salad dressing.  (Using the Hot Shot! spice is optional.)

4.)  Place the other slice of bread, over the sliced tomatoes.  Now enjoy your Tomato Sandwich.

5.)  Yields: 1 Sandwich

6.)  *Note: If using another type of bread, such as 100% Whole Wheat, the bread is larger in size.  I then sprinkle 1 Tablespoon of mayonnaise or salad dressing, on each slice of bread.

-

I thought I'd share additional photos of the salad dressing and mayonnaise I used.  Also the Hot Shot! seasoning.

Cranberry Tuna Salad Sandwich

My husband and I enjoy this Cranberry Tuna Salad Sandwich.  The tuna mixture is also delicious on Ritz Crackers, or Keebler Club Crackers.

Cranberry Tuna Salad Sandwich

1 (5 oz.) can tuna packed in water, drained
1/4 cup thinly sliced celery
1 hard boiled egg, peeled & chopped
1/3 cup dried sweetened cranberries
1/3 cup Hellmann's Mayonnaise
4 slices bread, toasted

1.)  In a bowl combine together, the tuna, celery, chopped hard boiled egg, sweetened cranberries, and the mayonnaise.

2.)  Spread the tuna salad mixture on 2 slices of toasted bread.

3.)  Top each with the remaining slices of the toasted bread, and serve immediately.

4.)  Yields: 2 sandwiches

5.)  Note: This also tastes great served on crackers, such as, Keebler Club Crackers.

Potato Chip Sandwich

This is one of my favorite sandwiches to make and eat!

Potato Chip Sandwich

2 slices of bread, or 1 hamburger bun, or hoagie roll

mayonnaise or salad dressing (add desired amount)

leafy green lettuce, optional

4 slices of deli-style lunch meat, any kind (See *Note)

2 thinly sliced tomatoes (I used one slice, as I used a small hamburger bun.)

5 to 6 slices of pickles

1 or 2 thin slices of cheese (I used Colby-Jack), plus rippled potato chips (as many as you can stack on.)

-

1.)  Spread mayonnaise or salad dressing on both sides of bread, hoagie roll, or hamburger bun(s).

2.)  Add a bit of leafy green lettuce, to one slice of the bread, the hoagie roll, or the hamburger bun.

3.)  Top with slices of cheese, deli meat, tomatoes, pickles, rippled potato chips, and top it off with the other slice of bread, or the bun. (If using a hamburger bun, you'll only need to add one tomato slice to the bun.

4.)  This makes: 1 sandwich (1 serving)

5) *Note: When making this sandwich, you can use either smoked turkey breast meat, or perhaps a honey-smoked turkey breast, or even the deli-style (shaved) meat.  I'll add 6 slices to my hoagie roll, since the meat is sliced very thin.  One other thing, you can add thin slices of red onion to your sandwich, if desired.
